Our Approach

At Treehouse Academy we work on the goals of Social Emotional Development, Physical Development, Cognitive Development and Language Development from The Creative Curriculum (as used in LWSD).

We also employ elements from the Montessori method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the Montessori teacher offers age-appropriate activities to guide the process. Children discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.

We also closely follow the Washington State Early Learning and Development Guidelines.

We provide age-appropriate activities designed to meet the developmental needs of our students using the Hand Writing Without Tears curriculum designed to teach the students the developmental needs of learning how to write. Children who master handwriting are better, more creative writers. The earlier we teach children to master handwriting, the more likely they are to succeed in school, and write with speed and ease in all subjects.

We strive to provide individual attention. Our relaxed enjoyable environment is important for a positive attitude towards school and school readiness.

My name is Ms. Jackie. I am passionate about early learning and I strongly believe that the primary goal of a preschool program is to help children to develop positive relationships with each other and their teachers. My focus is to have happy children who love to learn and who grow to be confident individuals, ready for the world ahead.

Before moving to Sammamish in 2007 with my husband and young family, I completed my Montessori teacher training and became director and owner of Stepping Stones Montessori School in Dublin, Ireland. We have enjoyed a wonderful life here in beautiful Washington. I have continued my passion working with young preschoolers in both the Lake Washington School District and in The Learning Academy in Bellevue’s Pro Club.
